I can't be too hard on this game, because I used to play it a lot and it introduced me to a lot of older games. Nevertheless, I can't help but feel as though this game has aged considerably.

The controls are often unresponsive, and the bosses' hitboxes can be all over the place. Some of the bosses are also a pain to deal with, (fuck you, Bright Man).

But I think it's still a bit of a charming game underneath. I do hope that someone gets inspired by this game to make one very much like it.

Jokes aside, this is actually a really cool image. The Rockman and Mario stuff is a bit odd, but I suppose it fits with the "what Sonic fans want" theme. (There are so many animations on this site alone that are this image unironically.)
